As if 5 wasn't enough!

So we thought 5 was enough. Sufficient and appropriate with our monthly budget. They do cost a lot especially in the beginning. You know the typical vaccin, deworming and frontline sprays plus initial start-up cost of litter boxes and litter sand, food, supplements and random stuff to pamper the babies. Honestly it was quite tight on my wallet but i call it love (to make things sound easier) so i just grab that wallet and fork out whatever i can.

Not like it got any better with the last 3 kittens we brought in had some severe flea and influenza issues. They had to be treated and cared for mainly to avoid the other 2 pariah breed from getting infected. So you see, it costs a lot. Like cost was ever an issue for us (it was actually), i was the one this time scouting around. This time for a mainecoon.

How do i explain this? I picture a dog like creature i would like to walk out in the park and well do dog stuff with me (nothing sexual you perv!). Only thing is, my religion and my fear of dogs stopped me from getting that man's best friend. So after that sunway shop visit, I thought hard about getting the giant cat. But i wanted one that i can witness its growth. So i was scouting around the net to find one. Ultimately i found one that i wanted to go see. So we made an appointment for a weekend trip up north.

Guess no more, the plan got cancelled because my gf made another appointment with a local breeder of coons. See he lived nearby our place so it was less hassle. So i said ok, let's go see his first and if we dont like it, we'll go see the previous one. After much talk over the phone with the breeder, we were set on a date, time and place. Kota Damansara Petronas - what a place to meet and show cats ey? I know so unhealthy.

We got there on time and a guy in a proton waja drove so face just park his car and i guessed right - it was him. I was like wondering, is he like going to take us to his breeding ground or just show pictures or something. Then we walked up to his car and there it was two big kittens in a carrier meowing away. He picked one up and said that this is his last boy and after this no more breeding for him. He called him eragon. He had no chestfur fest going like most coons. The breeder explained that it takes at least a year to deelop that and if put in cold weather, it'd grow even faster. Yeah so much for cold weather in malaysia or lets narrow it down a lil' - cold weather in kota damansara??

So i quickly thought like, shit need air-conditioned room, expensive, money aching to remain in wallet. I was determine at this point not to proceed with this ridiculous endeavour. My gf was happily holding the boy like it was already hers so i decided to give it a go. I held him and what did he do?? He sits gently in my arm licking my thumb!!! I fell in love right away and went to the petronas ATM and the boy was mine.

Here's the boy when we first got him:

Dont look much like a coon does he? Well he is if you look at his facial features and look at that ears! cant mistake that one. He was named Eragon by the breeder but we look at this gentle giant and decided that Philippe "Anerie" Connor suits him better. He's only 4 months old in this picture!!

We took him home after he recovered from his neuter surgery. Adapted so well withing hours to the rest. He's the most lovable of the bunch. Handsome too i might add. He is bigger now @ almost 6 months now and as demands a lot of attention. Still finds me as his cushion and lick my thumb everytime. My gf gets jealous but i say, he is my boy! hehehe.

So that was it, i wanted a coon and finally got one. We were done and finally settled to start packing. It was just weeks before we had to move. Usually we get packing quick but this time, we were lazy since we hired packers and movers, why waster money right? Heheh.

Remember baby Ojeh? The gift baby. Ojeh had been sick since its first frontline spray session until Ojeh had to be hospitalized. Every time we visit Ojeh, it showed no sign of improvements. So we took Ojeh home to nurse it ourself. Give Ojeh some touch of our love while treating it. So we went on a quest to find the best meds for Ojeh. That quest took us all the way to Kota Kemuning. We got lost a few times but we reached there with an excuse to look for meds. Instead when we got there, we forgot all about the meds and had our eyes set on Classic Blue Tabby American Shorthair.

It was ugly as hell!! So ugly you just want to push him away. But from the moment we walked in, he kept calling on to us like he knew more. I on the other hand interested in another huge baby. A 10 month old Norwegian Forest Cat:

Big Brother Elmo my first and didnt quite lasted NFO. It took me a long time to decide on the fella. Took him home on the same day hehe. He was so big, he caused havoc a little in the house. He was much older and to enter a new environment with the baby clans didnt make him feel good. He was much afraid of them than the other way round. So we kept him upstairs in a separate room. He was the sweetest big ol thing. So gentle and loving but he couldn't fit in and he had skin issues that i found to be damaging to my personal health (asthma). We took him back the next day and it was the hardest thing ever, letting him go.

Wait a minute!! Dont forget fugly blue boy now. We took him home too since i got my coon, my gf wants her american boy. We took him despite his eye infection and smelly face. He's name is Austin. We enhance it a little leaving him with Austin Kiefur Jones:

Look at that "busuk" face and literally he is stinky. He has this habit of pushing his face into ours. He sits comfortably on our chests or belly of anywhere as long as he feels our touch. Despite his eye infection, he got a long well with the rest and made buddies with the boys. Always demanding extra attention, he the 7th we finally decided it was the last. Enough is enough. 7 is a handful and wallet crushing. Good thing that we're able to spread equal joy to them and they to use. Stay tuned!

Have a gay day!

(since this was actually written about a month ago, you may expect a newer one pretty soon. New pictures too!)
