It has been a loooong time since i've updated. And for those wondering, we have not abandoned our lil' ones. They're growing in fact and just recently, 2 boys and 1 girl had to be neutered and spayed respectively. Being 3 of the most active, they're all hyper after day 2. Kudos to the vet who did a clean job.
Speaking of jobs, well mine has taken a big turn recently. i've been putting a lot of focus on new work tasks and so has my partner. We've both been so busy that we had no time to update this blog. So now that i became lazy to start off my monday morning, i shall update here. I think we left of at our first two furjoy so let me take you through our next experience.
Now that the Ichiro and Mika have finally settled down (mostly on me), we thought it would be enough as far as pets are concerned. But little did i know of my gf's sneaky adverture online. She was searching high and low for two kinds of cat breed she had always wanted to get for herself. She then after a week or so told me that she had found a beautiful breed and practically begged me to take her go see the cat. After i had explained to her on countless occasions that we cant afford pets right now, as we were moving by end of APril, she agreed that we'd go for viewing pleasure. I was cautious with the whole idea but since we had nothing better to do over the weekend, we went.
It was in Sunway on a hot sunny day. My car and i nearly melted but we went inside anyways. They had a wide selection of kitties and mommies to select from. I was mesmerized truly. The all looked beautiful and well, furry cute. Its not that we're high and mighty but we have preference for shorthair breeds. SO we skipped the persians and went on to see the ones my gf had been talking about. Two little american shorthair brown and silver tabby. Their coat so clear and silky we just had to pick it up until the owner said they hold a "NO TOUCHING" policy. Afraid ofcourse of any virus we might've carried on our skins that may infect his kitties upon touching. Well to be honest, that killed the moment for me.
I believe in feelings. Go figure im a dyke. We need to feel, touch and embrace any other form of beings before we take them home. The price wasn't an issue. It was the longing and connection we needed to feel. A glass window wont give you that. I know i said, we cant afford a new pet right now or ever but after seeing them, I was comtemplating. However the owner's policy upset me. So i didnt want to be rude, i walked around seeing other breeds while thinking. Two cute little cream scottish fold (slowly developing the fold) looked at me through a glass window. Eyes so droopy, implying sadness and longing. Right there i was torn. Let's not even talk about how my gf was feeling at that time. If only i could touch him and understand was he was saying to me. It was far-fetched as far as i could see it. I walked ahead to glass showroom and saw lion like creature sleeping inside. He was so big i was sure, if i were to open the door, he'd jump on me and bite my head off.
The owner opened the door and i choked. He lift the big boy up and all he did was pur. Bloody mary jesus buddha! the big kitty giant was so adorable and loved to be cuddled. He weighs over 11kg and my God, i've never seen anything of that size. I learned later that he's a Maine Coon boy, only 3 years of age (if i can remember well). I feel secretly in love with that breed. But we continued pondering upon this ridiculous policy. Eventually we decided to walk out and check out this other place my gf had mentioned. I knew from the moment i stepped out of that place, i wasn't ever going back. Unless he changes his policy. I heard that he has yet to sell that american shorthair babies and its been like 4 months now. Perhaps its time to reconsider your policy and reduce your price.
So we moved on the very next day with appointment to meet another breeder in taman desa. We got there hoping to see another american shorthair however mixed. What we didnt know was that he bred bengals as well. It was the first thing we saw. Bengals of various coats. I didnt see the american shorthair he said he had. But we being first-timers and breed-clueless, just believed the breeder's every word when he introduced us to a grey tabby he said he had mixed with exotic. Frankly, she looked nothing like either. My gf was however interested in her. So I said we'll think about it and come back tomorrow with a decision. We didnt talk about it much but we did both express warm feelings about the bengal. She was gorgeous almost hot is cat language. The price was reasonable and the whole moving thing suddenly was forgotten.
The next day we went back there, pick one bengal, the mixed victim and for some reason i decided to add a gift cat for my nephew and sister, so we took little baby persian (mixed). This is how they looked like when we first took them home:
GULLEE SOPHIA KNIGHTLEY: the name just came as corny as it did. marble in other words "guli" and the rest just flow with it. She's the bengal that i was afraid to touch until a few days later. Her paws just seems bigger and she constantly look stunninly angry. She even sounds different. The next: EVA ASHCROFT: she is the supposedly american cross exotic girl but she looks nothing like it. Later we found out that she's actually a british mixed exotic (do you see it?) After a while you'll see it and you'll never guess what built up her appetite :P. We love her with every bit of our hearts, for she is a victim of greedy breeder but never of unwanted love. And of, go figure with her european name. The gift cat: WOK "OJEH" CHEH: this is the supposed persian cat. We didnt know its gender but later found out that its a he but now i think its a she again. anyways, we're not prejudice againsts gender. This tortoiseshell baby has been sick since we brought it home so we decided to nurse it instead and make it ours. It has now recovered from its severe skin disease and this baby truly is a gift for us.
So now at that point, we have 5 kittens, finding it extremely easy to adapt to each other. It took 24 hours for them to get acquainted and eat an entire bag of food in one week. I started feeling the ache in my wallet on the 25th hour. I then vowed (we both did) that 5 is enough to spread all over love and joy around. Till later!
